Split Pea Soup

  • chicken sausage (1 4-sausage package)
  • 2 small onion, chopped
  • 2 leek, thinly sliced
  • 2 large carrot, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 (10.5 ounce) cans chicken broth
  • 3 cups green split peas
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh rosemary

We used Kitchen Basics broth (very tasty). After sauteeing the vegetables, we put everything in a slow cooker except for the sausage. We browned the sausage and tossed it in 15 min before the end. If the slow cooker is too slow, the soup can be finished on the stove.
